So a few weeks ago my mouse developed the annoying habit of clicking on its own, at wherever I've left it on the screen. I've tried lessening the touchpad sensitivity, disabling the tap-to-click, updating the driver software, but nothing. I thought it might be malware, but none of the scans I've run have detected anything. It's really just a nuisance, but it's driving me crazy - especially when I'm typing. Thoughts on what I can do?

Welcome to Geeks to Go!

I just can't get on with a laptop's touchpad. I've disabled mine in Control Panel-->Mouse.
There should be an option to "Disable internal pointing device when a mouse is attached".

I use a compact, usb optical mouse instead. That would solve your problem I think.
