Recently and at random, when using my computer the mouse will randomly disappear without any coincidence between occurences. I'm currently using a Logitech MX500 (USB). I've never had any problems like this before and have had this mouse for several years. I've also noticed that when playing a game the mouse will suddenly lock up making me unable to move about as normal. After about 2 minutes or so it will magically free itself and return to normal use. If you have any insight please let me know. Heres my HJT log...

Welcome to GTG.

Please try not to double post here. It's very busy in the forum and not all topics will be replied to early. So if you don't get a reply after a day or two, you may reply to your own topic just to give it a little bump. But only do this after a day or two.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Make sure to close any open browsers. Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {ED103D9F-3070-4580-AB1E-E5C179C1AE41} - (no file)
O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler V3.exe
O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler.exe

OK, I want you to check ALL the O18 entries except for the first O18 entry you see there -> O18 - Protocol: bw+0 - {96292AB7-69CC-4C75-B5A6-EB13726455BC} - C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\BWPlugProtocol-8876480.dll

Leave that first one unchecked.

Restart and run a new HijackThis scan. Save the log file and post it here.

No problem Andrew :tazz:

How is everything running now?

Your log is clean.

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer and uncheck the same box to enable System Restore.

Make sure to get the latest updates for Windows and Internet Explorer at http://v5.windowsupd...t.aspx?ln=en-us.

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Tutorial and use the tools provided.

Are there any problems now? If not, you should be set to go.
