Emergency WORD Document Retrieval!

I do some of my academic work with students via e-mail. One of my students just sent me a WORD file. I spent over an hour correcting and analyzing it carefully. Throughout the process I had saved it a handful of times. I was getting ready to attach the file and send it back when I realized that I can't locate the file anywhere. Can someone please suggest a way that I could quickly retrieve the lost file? Of course the original uncorrected version is still attached to my student's original e-mail in my inbox. However, that one does me no good! I am using Windows XP and Office Word 2003. Thanks!

Hello capper,

I suppose you have tried these methods already?

1. Open Word > Open and select the My Recent Documents option? Sometimes Office's default save location is buried within several layers of folders that are no always helpful. This may allow you to find the file and save it to known location.
2. Attempted to search for the file using XP's search command?
