Hello all,

I'm new here and sure am grateful for any help offered.

I recently aquired a VisionQuest 19" Widescreen Monitor (LCD), which I am currently using with my PC (the one running Windows XP Pro).

The problem I'm having with the Monitor is that with the exception of the "Power" & "AUTO" buttons, I can't get the Monitor's other buttons to respond (five buttons are non-responsive).

I'm currently using a VGA cable as that's all I've got on hand currently.

I've tried the following,

> I've unpluged the Monitor from the DC and reconnected it... no change.

> I've moved the Unit to other rooms and plugged it to different outlets (just to see if it was a power problem)....no change.

> I disconnected & seperated the Unit's DC cord (which comes in two parts) and reconnected them back again and then pluged Monitor in, then all of the sudden everything was working. Unfortunately, that only lasted about 5 Minutes :) and then all went bad again.

Any suggestions as to what could be wrong or how I can fix this?

Thank you. :)

Welcome to D-A-L!

Did you just get this new? Is it still under warranty?
Did it used to work as expected, or was this 5 minutes event 'it'?

It is no longer under warranty. It was a clearance item with no return.
I was told it had been tested and working fine.

Thank you.

I was told it had been tested and working fine.

For 4 minutes, I would guess. :)

I would try this monitor on another computer just to make sure it is the monitor, and not the computer. I suspect the monitor is bad.

I tried another monitor on this same computer and works fine.

I plan to try this Monitor on my Dell computer, a DELL Studio Hybrid...just as soon as my new HDMI to DVI cable gets here (schedued delivery..tomorrow).

Thank you :)

My issue is similar but appears to be mechanical.

I have a 21 month-old emachines 19" LCD monitor Model LEl987. No complaints until now - the brightness & contrast buttons aren't working very well. They've gradually resisted actuating and I have to push in with a lot of pressure or tap in with a heavy object.

Any known user fixes for this?
