acer travelmate 2480 won't work with at&T mobile device

working with an acer 2480 travel mate; bought an at&t sierra usb mobile connection device. Device will not connect while on the travelmate, but will work on other laptops - ie dell and sony. believe the broadband is fine, since i can get a wifi connection, just not a 3g mobile connection. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. using windows xp.

Make sure you've disabled the internal wireless adapter

thanks no luck trying that, still no connect. Contacted Acer stated that model does not have 3G mobile feature, so guess it will not work no matter what...
