I have just hooked up my secure wireless connection and it was pretty easy. I have a comcast modem hooked up to a netgear router and a linksys wireless adapter hooked up via usb to my desktop. I could be online for 5, 10,15 et minutes it doesnt really matter but my INTERNET drops but the LAN stays cool. It also really seems to when I'm downloading a file it can drop mostly or when I'm trying to test my internet speed out it does it etc. If you guys need any hardware specs or anything bump the thread and I will tell you. But just tell me either how to get it or what k . Thank You :)

do you have any other wireless adapters as in the past i have had trouble using netgear routers with linkys adapters although this really shouldn't be a problem.

please can you tell us the model of the netgear router and the linkys adapter.

For a quick fix if you want to download files before you get this problem fixed use free download manager. http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/
this allows resuming of broken downloads so atleast you will be able to download files for now.

Another thing, if you hardwire the computer to the router does your internet still drop then?

You need to update the firmware for your netgear router (Go to netgear support site). And also try changing the wireless channel number.
