Yes it is safe to download the "speedfan" program.
We need to do that to check temperatures. It will probably be 1 of many programs we will ask you to download so that we can isolate what is going on.
They are all safe otherwise we would not ask.

I commend you for asking "is it safe". There are no "dumb" questions.
If you do not understand anything, we want you ask before you do anything.

Anything we have you do can be un-installed after we resolve the problem.
If there are some we think you should keep, we will tell you.

You did good with the system info.
You have 960mb of ram which is ok. I actually suspect that you have 1024mb and 64mb is taken by onboard video.
You stated you have a video card so that does not make sense.

Broni.... What do you make of the 960mb of ram and the video card? Could there be a conflict?

Thanks for your reply. I tried to download the speedfan but the website that was provided didn't have a speedfan download link. It just took me to a page that explained what a speedfan did. Do you have a direct link to download the speedfan?
Sorry that I am not good with computer. I don't think I have an individual video card because I opened my computer once and there was no video card.

Sorry that I am not good with computer.

Do not worry to much about that. We work with a lot of varying expertise levels. Just ask questions if you are unsure of anything.

I don't think I have an individual video card because I opened my computer once and there was no video card.

That makes more sense now and the reason we are "missing" 64mb of ram. It is being used by the onboard video.

As for speedfan. A lot of sites have a tendancy to "hide" the links.
Go back to the site and in the 2nd paragraph under "download" click on the blue SpeedFan 4.40.. It is the 5th word in the paragraph.
