Thank you for your help in advance.

I am getting constant pop ups when I am both online and offline. Norton Antivirus has identified a virus on my computer as trojan.alwayup but cannot make the repair.

I have tried the following but I am still getting constant pop ups:
CleanUp
Ad-aware
CWShredder
Spybot S&D
Panda Activescan
TDS-3

Again, thank you for your help. Here is my logfile:

Hello,

It's better to print out the next instructions or save it in notepad, because you also have to work in safe mode without networking support, so this page wouldn't be available then.
It is also important you don't miss a step and perform everything in the right order!!

* Download and install CCleaner
Do not use it yet.

* Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

* Download LQfix.zip
Unzip it and save it to your desktop, don't use it yet!!

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

* Reboot into Safe Mode`: ( without networking support !)
°To get into the Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

* Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them if still present:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\5fee5cvv.exe
C:\windows\system32\qsdxregu.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Oufeij.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\wintask.exe

c:\program files\180search assistant <== folder
C:\WINDOWS\VCMnet11.exe
C:\PROGRAM FILES\VBouncer <== folder
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ssysuwd8.exe run64

* Doubleclick LQfix.bat that you saved on your desktop before.
A doswindow will open and close again, this is normal.

* Still in safe mode Run Ccleaner and click Run Cleaner (bottom right)

* Reboot your system back to normal mode.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log and I'll take another look.

miekiemoes,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I followed all of your instructions but when in safe mode, LQfix.bat and Ccleaner doesn't appear on my desktop nor do they appear under Start>All Programs. They do appear on my desktop when in normal mode however.

Please advise.

Thank you

This is odd...can you move LQfix.bat and Ccleaner to your documents instead of your desktop?

OK I know what I did wrong. I logged on in safe mode as administrator instead of my name.

I ran LQfix and Ccleaner and rebooted into normal mode. Here is my new HijackThis logfile:

Much better -- still some things that needs to go though.

Check and fix next in hijackthis again:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [C:\WINDOWS\VCMnet11.exe] C:\WINDOWS\VCMnet11.exe

Also make sure C:\WINDOWS\VCMnet11.exe is really deleted!

I want to know what it is, so can you go to next site:
http://virusscan.jotti.org/

On top you'll find: File to upload and scan.
Now browse to the next file:

C:\WINDOWS\system\jwsdmxws.exe

Click submit and let it scan.
Post the results in your next reply.

I'm still getting pop ups and a warning from Norton AV saying my computer is infected with trojan.alwayup

Here is the result from the scan:

Status: POSSIBLY INFECTED/MALWARE (Note: this file was only classified as malware by scanners known to generate more false positives than the average scanner. Do not consider these results definately accurate. Also, because of this, results of this scan will not be recorded in the database.)

We are going to take care of that. :tazz:
Let's see what else is still hiding..

Download rkfiles.zip
UNZIP the contents to a permanent folder

Reboot in SAFE MODE !! Important !!
°To get into the Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key

Please set your system to show all files.
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

Delete C:\WINDOWS\system\jwsdmxws.exe

Doubleclick rkfiles.bat
It will scan for a while, so please be patient.
Wait till the doswindow closes and reboot back to normal mode.

Post the contents of C:\log.txt in your next reply.

Hello,

Well well, buddy.exe is also present. That explains the popups.
Let's get rid of it now.

Delete next files:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ps1.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\psoft1.ex
C:\WINDOWS\Buddy.exe
C:\WINDOWS\ceres.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system\jwsdmxws.exe <== if still present.

If you can't delete them in normal mode, try it in safe mode.

Rebbot and post a new hijackthislog afterwards.

They are present though---
Don't worry, we'll deal with them in another way.

* Download Killbox.
Unzip it and Click killbox.exe.
Select the option "Delete on reboot".

Now copy the next bold:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ps1.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\psoft1.ex
C:\WINDOWS\Buddy.exe
C:\WINDOWS\ceres.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system\jwsdmxws.exe

Open 'file' in the killboxmenu on top and choose Paste from clipboard

Now you will see, this is pasted in the "Full Path of File to Delete"-field.
There's a little arrow (dropdown-arrow) next to that field.
If you expand it, these lines must be there together if the files are present!

Then press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it.
Killbox will tell you that all listed files will be deleted on next reboot.. Click YES
When it asks if you would like to Reboot now, click YES
If you get a "PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data has been Removed by External Process!" message then just restart manually.

Your computer must reboot now.

Post a new rkfiles-log afterwards ( no need to run it in safe mode now) together with a new hijackthislog.

Only 3 files were listed in the "Full Path of File to Delete"-field after I pasted from the clipboard (psoft1.ex and jwsdmxws.exe were excluded)

Your hijackthislog is clean. But the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\psoft1.exe is still present. So try this again with killbox -- choose option: 'standard kill file' and copy and paste C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\psoft1.exe in the field.
Click the red button with the white cross.

Check afterwards if it's really gone.
Let me know.
