My labtop wont boot up!

so i turn on my labtop and it shows the dell logo and that loads then it just goes to the black screen an says

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt :
<Windows root>\system32\ntoskrn.exe.
please re-install a copy of the above file.

so im wondering What the... what is this a virus or something?

try this press and holdthe F11 and crtl keys as the machien shows the dell logo
his willopen upthe recovery area ofthe machineand allowyou to reload windows
if you hav ethe win2K Cd you canuse it also by placing it inthe drive nad rebooting it should see it and reload windows fromthere

uh i have this cd that says re-installation drivers an utilities cd will that help me
