Window xp keep freezing when starting. All the icon and the desktop shows. It just froze there. Normally starting would freeze it. even when i go in to device mode, i can't open window media player. I try some update for window defender and it gave me an error so i uninstall it and reinstall and when i try to reinstall, a message pop saying "the system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation."

is this a virus? or it just some error in the computer?

in safe mode, it is alright, it work just fine. I think, the problem is cause by one of my start up program because when i change setting to only basic stuff loading, it went okay in normal start up until i re-allow my normal start up setting, that when's the blue screen appears. 0X0000007E(0X0000005, 0X872E36E1, 0XAA9F8AC, 0XAAPF55A8)after that the same problem happen after this.

Lets see what you have in your startup

Please click on
Start and then to Run
Type in msconfig and press Enter
Now click on Startups
Then uncheck everything and restart.
IMPORTANT! In case of laptop, make sure, you do NOT disable any keyboard, or touchpad entries.
If system boots correctly and is running smoothly and faster then we have a startup problem
Try going back into msconfig and check one item and reboot
Keep doing that till you have found the problem or all are finally checked.
Post back with the results

after doing some change to the start up, it work normally just that it had a message "An Access Denied error was returned while attempting to change a service. You may need to log on using ab Administrator account to make the specified changes.", but it still did the change.

  • Please download the Event Viewer Tool by Vino Rosso VEW and save it to your Desktop:
  • Double-click VEW.exe
  • Under 'Select log to query', select (as appropriate):
    • Application
    • System
  • Under 'Select type to list', select (as appropriate):
    • Error
    • Information
    • Warning
Then use the 'Date of events' or 'Number of events' as follows:

Either:
  • Click the radio button for 'Number of events'
Type 3 in the 1 to 20 box (or any number from 1 to 20)
    Then click the Run button.
Notepad will open with the output log.

  • Click the radio button for 'Date of events'
In the From: boxes type today's date (presuming the crash happened today) 13 07 2009
In the To: boxes type today's date (presuming the crash happened today) 13 07 2009
    Then click the Run button.
Notepad will open with the output log.

Go to
Start and then to Run
Type in Chkdsk /r Note the space between k and /
Click Enter ...It will probably ask if you want to do this on the next reboot...click Y
If the window doesn't shutdown on its own then reboot the system manually. On reboot the system will start the chkdsk operation
This one will take longer then chkdsk /f

Note... there are 5 stages...
It may appear to hang at a certain percent for a hour or more or even back up and go over the same area...this is normal...
DO NOT SHUT YOUR COMPUTER DOWN WHILE CHKDSK IS RUNNING OR YOU CAN HAVE SEVERE PROBLEMS
This can take several hours to complete.
When completed it will boot the system back into windows.

Let me know if this fixes the problem

i did not take a good look at the error code for the two blue screen.
In the choice selection there normal mode and safe mode, i choose normal mode.
Also i have experience the non-responding of browser then other program that lead to the a freezing screen.
