Iphone wont connect to pc.

so about 5 days ago my i phone 3g worked fine but not anymore it wont connect to the PC its not the cable or the i phone because I've connected it to my friends PC and it works fine I've already reinstalled i tunes but it still wont connect the icon wont even show up.
any ideas please?
