I have set up mirrored Raid for my W7 64 bit operating system using a Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 mobo. The Jmicron driver loaded ok and the Raid works fine. However, within the extracted driver download, GIGABYTE SATA2 RAID Driver version 1.17.50.2, from the Gigabyte mobo site there are a number of files which I suspect include software to manage the Raid from within windows in the event that for example the two HD drives get out of sync. Within the extracted driver files there is amongst other files / folders a W7 Application folder in which there are a number of files including setup files.

The jmide folder contains jmide.cat and jmide.inf
The res folder contains processing.avi, raidlogo.ico and a number of bmp files.
The x64 folder contains DIFxAPI.dll and xLHD64.dll

I had an out of sync Raid and double clicked xRaidSetup which ran but with some minor errors flagged eg unable to find logo. However, it did recognise the raid problem and fixed it. The problem is that the programme did not properly install and it will not run again.
I have also double clicked the other exe files in an attempt to install the controller with no success. Currently should the two raid drives go out of sync I have to repair within the bios which takes about two and a half hours before booting into windows . So does anyone have experience of this driver package and can advise how the raid configuration software can be installed to run within windows 7.

I'm a bit lost myself... I can't see a RAID utility on the Gigabyte website, perhaps it's specifically on the Intel or Jmicron website?

Is it on the disc that came with the motherboard?

Yes I see it now, it doesn't install on my machine though, reports not finding the specific chip. Are you able to uninstall/reinstall it? Does it show up in your Programs list?

In trying to install I have assumed (since I am running W7 64bit)that I should open the W7 folder and then the Application folder. There are then a number of files including several setup files and again I made an assumption that I should double click the xRaidSetup.exe which has a Gigabyte logo associated with it and is dated 26/8/09 and is a 1924Kb file. The first time I tried this I got a "did not properly install message" which indicated that a logo could not be found. I left it at that stage but shortly after rebooted and noted my raid drives out of sync I therefore, once back in W7, double clicked the xRaidSetup.exe which again gave me the same error message but actually ran and rebuilt my raid. The controller is not listed in my Program list and if I rerun the exe file I get an icon in my task bar but no usable programme is now available. I did copy the bitmap / ico files from the Res folder into the same place as the exe file which seems to have cured the no logo error message. Unlike the Intel Matrix Raid Controller which I have also installed, JMicron has not provided, as far as I can see, any guidance or a simple to use utility to install the GRaid Controller.

I have been to the JMicron web site and downloaded a version jmb36x_WinDrv_R1.17.55_WHQL_eSata.zip which is avaialable from http://files.3dnews....s/RAID/jmicron/. This later version is specifically for W7 64 bit but again has no install instructions. Not sure if there is any risk attached if I try and install this version using the xRaidSetup file to see if I can get any further forward.

Unfortunately it doesn't really help, I should have mentioned to you that I don't have your exact motherboard.

At this stage I would email Gigabyte support, I have a few times in the past and while the initial response may take a while, they're pretty helpful.

No worries, sorry we can't help much further but it does sound like you are trying to do the right thing...

Although I'm not so sure about why the RAID is out of sync so often, is one of the hard drives failing or something?
