Need some help with regards to regaining some speed with my windows xp. It used to be very fast but recently it seems to have been getting slower and slower

Old age is a terrible thing :tazz:

If anyone could offer any help it would be appreciated....

Have you checked for spyware/virus/trojans? You could use msconfig to remove some un-needed programs from the startup. Go to start, run and type msconfig then select start up. Uncheck those you don't need to free up resources. Seems most software wants to "help" us out by automatically starting up in the boot process, even though they don't need to be there. You can always start them when you need em....Realplayer is a good example of this! These chew up system resources.

Checked for spyware using adaware but no go...I am really not sure what is going on...
