Until recently we had no problems connecting to the internet. Now all the sudden programs such as game programs (messages saysconnection failure: Could not establish a connection) and Itunes will not connect to the internet but Firefox and Internet Explorer have no problems. System is running the new windows os.

Reset Windows Firewall to defaults, assuming you're using Windows 7.

Windows key + R|At the command prompt type:

netsh advfirewall reset


Reboot and try your applications.

Just tried doing what you suggested the programs still wont connect.

Do you have a router? If so, login to it and check the configuration.
