losing shortcuts and other stuff

I installed Jdownloader and it is impossible to find on my computer. Finally I found it and it was in some temp folder. Shortly after my shortcuts for both jdownloader and firefox no longer had their respective logos. I reinstalled firefox and it got the logo back but then it went away again. This computer is brand new out the box 2 days ago. This is only happening on one of the 2 user accounts. Both are admin accounts.
