Hello guys!:) I'm absolutely belated to have found this wonderful site! Recently, I have had a virus which I believe to be related to VUNDO; as it has come up in many virus scans I have made. For now, all I know of to do is run a virus scan, and post a HJT log. Some of the measures I had resorted to were, removing Avast after it failed to detect the virus, and purchased NOD 32. After doing so, I had noticed, NOD 32, after running a full system scan, had detected a large amount of virus' or infections, around 1,000. After removing them, the virus seemed to still be there. I then had one of my "techy-friends" remove some potentially harmful registry keys. In doing so, some of my very annoying errors stopped showing. As I logged onto my Windows XP Home Edition account, I received errors such as "insert .dll here" is not a valid windows image. Now I'm getting continuous pop-ups and I have no idea what to do. Below is a log of HJT:

We don't use Hijackthis much anymore. It is very limited in what it shows and what it can remove. That said if you do a Scan Only and check the following then Fix Checked it might get rid of some of it.

I doubt it tho. I remember when we only had HJT and it would not touch an appinit entry and had no idea what do with vundo.

Best if you can run through the guide:

http://www.geekstogo...uide-t2852.html

and post the logs you get. If a program won't run just skip to the next one. Be sure you copy and paste. Do not attach your logs.

Thank you for your fast reply.
For now, I'm going to post the mbam log, for I had to restart my computer and lost all other logs.
Very sorry, Mimi.

After having remove Jiyayuda.dll, I searched for it in RUN, and says it was missing; it has been deleted >>C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\jiyayuda.dll

What seems to me is happening, is that it's creating new .dll's which I assume keeps the virus alive. I just need to find the source of the virus.
Oh and I have also ran NOD32 virus scan *full* and it picked up two different virus', but were quickly quarantined and deleted.

"-> No action taken."

Means you missed a step in the instructions:

# When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
# Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

So run MBAM again and this time do the above.

OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt should be in the same place as the OTL.exe program. Usually on the desktop.

Vundo has about 5 different programs running so you have to kill all of them at the same time which is why HJT doesn't help.
