Hi,
I am looking into having a dual monitor setup on my computer, and I am a bit confused. I was wondering if anyone has any advice.

I currently have one ATI Radeon HD4670 graphics card (which has one HDMI port)
and one Asus VH222H monitor (which is connected to HDMI port)

If I buy another vh222h then how will I get it to work, with regards to extra graphics cards etc?
If possible I would like not to have to purchase another card.

You could connect the second vh222h into the vga port on your hd4670 so you wont have to buy another.

no-one replied for ages, so i thought i would attract some attention!

to answer the question. the VGA output will not be as clear/good quality as the HDMI output, the HDMI output is actually DVI-D, or Digital Video Interface-Digital (yeah, it says digital twice...it's because there is a DVI-A which will allow you to go from the DVI to Analog (VGA)) so the signal is actually a digital signal...with VGA it's an analog signal

so with the DVI-D you're sending 1's and 0's over to the monitor and it decodes them exactly as they should be, where as the VGA receives the info as more of an electrical encoding (it's still roughly 1's and 0's but let's not get confused) so there is data loss, and the image quality is going to be less than that of the DVI output.

your only option to have the same quality on both monitors would be to get another video card that has two digital outputs (either 2 HDMI outputs or an HDMI and a DVI-D)
