Hi my gateway with windows xp 2000 was messing up so I tried to reinstall my windows to erase my hardrive with my original windows operating cd, but while pulling system setup files it says I'm missing file asc3550.sys, and fails then pops up NTLDR missing press ctrl- alt- del to reboot

is this a laptop or tower...what is the make and model

is the OS disk xp or 2000...it can't be both
