I upgraded my 4 year old Vaio VGN-SZ2XP/C laptop computer from XP to WIN 7. However in the process I lost all the Vaio OEM files and now the diplay which was a 13.3 inch widescreen (1280x800) only fills 2/3 the screen. Win 7 only sees the video hardware as standard VGA whereas it is in fact a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400.

The Sony websitetells me there is no compatible driver for WIN 7 for my machine and NVIDIA website is no help either as they do not appear to have a suitable driver either.

Can anyone tell me how I can recover a full screen display?

Hi, The latest Vista/Win7 driver release is only a Beta at the moment, which dosen't support viao notebooks amongst others. In my opinion yu have two options, revert to XP and wait to see if a later release supports vaio notebooks or change your vid. card if possible. If you change the card make sure ther is a Win7 driver for it
