Hi all, I could do with some help, I hope I've posted this in the right place.

I recently tried (unsuccessfully) to connect my pc to my analogue tv using an adapter that converted the socket for the screen into seperaye audio (right and left) and video channels. This was not working so in graphics settings I selected 'always search for tv'. Still no success so I scrapped the idea and plugged my screen back in.

However ever since I have not been able to get the pc to boot up properly. It starts ok, runs the windows xp startup logo and then sticks on a black screen. The mouse is still on the screen but nothing else. When I try to use the keyboard it just beeps after every key stroke.

I really would appreciate some help as I have no idea what is wrong and how to fix.

Thanks in advance and let me know what further information you need.

Cheers

Hi there, couple of suggestions, have you tried getting into
the BIOS & checking what the display settings are, clearing the
CMOS by either removing the battery or moving the jumpers so that
the BIOS reverts back to the default settings, if non of the above
work see the link below:

Good luck & let us know how it goes
