I've been searching the web for answers with no real luck hopefully you can help?

My trusty old home system Dell Dimension e310 was recently infected (PC Defender 2010), I was able to remove it, and everything was running fine again. However the next day it wouldn't boot, it'd make it to the initial Dell logo screen then get stuck on a black screen with the blinking curser.

I'm assuming the virus corrupted my OS? So I went to both the BIOS option and the select boot option and tryed booting from "Onboard or USB CD-Rom Drive", and it come back with "Selected boot device not avalible".

I'd say my computer skill set is a high 6 out of 10, but i'm stuck on this? Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks

I suggest that you start a new topic in the Malware Removal and Spyware Removal area.

Create new topic and simply state, that your computer is not bootable.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
