So i'm working on this old laptop running windows 3.1, and there is a very important program on it. I found the directory the program is at. c:\llcd and im trying to move it to a:\ (which is a floppy disk) so it can be moved to a different computer.

If you didn't already know, windows 3.1 does not really have the "Copy and paste" function everybody is used to. There is no obvious button or method of moving this program, so somebody please help.

Um, Cut & Paste was introduced in Windows 3 and has been a feature ever since.

Assuming the program: a) can be copied in this fashion, and b) will actually fit onto a floppy disk, you should just be able to open the LLCD folder and the floppy folder and drag them across.

It won't click and drag. it won't copy and paste.

Did you read the part where I said there was no obvious solution? That means I tried [bleep] like that.

Are you saying, that if you right click on that folder, there is no "Copy" option?

Nothing happens when i right click. I tried plugging in another mouse, and still no right click option. click and drag also won't work.

It's bee a while since Win 3.1, but I believe, it still should be the same procedure.
Restart computer and keep tapping F8 key until menu appears.
Select DOS mode.

You should end up with a black screen with this:
C:\>
At that prompt type in:
copy llcd a: (<---- watch for "spaces")
Press Enter.
If successful, you should see this message:
1 file(s) copied
