Snap Server 4100

I have a 4100 snap server that I use as a file server. My workstations are macintosh running 10.5 / 10.6 (snow leopard). When I log onto the SNAP thru the finder, some of my files are missing/disappeared. I can still log on via my web browser and see and download my files. But then I can not put them back onto the SNAP. I also have files on the SNAP that can not be deleted even tho I put them there and wish to remove them permanently. Has any of this ever happened to anyone else and what can I do?
