I know there are topics on this virus already, however I am not able to use the recommendations. I cannot open Task Manager. I've tried all the options to get it up and running. I cannot open REGEDIT.
I can still open files, I cannot run any programs.

I have tried running MalwareBytes, it won't run..says it's infected.

Without Task Manager and the Registry, I'm not sure what my options are.
Please help!!!

Also, I cannot start my Computer in SafeMode. It will not run.

Start, All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt. Do you get a black Command window?

If you do then type each line in the code box with an Enter at the end of the line (I use double spaces to make it easier to see where a single space goes):

copy  \windows\regedit.exe  \windows\regedit.com

regedit.com

Does the registry editor come up?

Navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

Find the value DisableRegistryTools. Double click and change it from 1 to 0. OK

Sometimes if you are lucky you can copy the next line then move to a command window, right click and Paste then Enter:

REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

If you copy the following"

[Version]
Signature="$Chicago$"
Provider=Symantec

[DefaultInstall]
AddReg=UnhookRegKey

[UnhookRegKey]
HKLM, Software\CLASSES\batfile\shell\open\command,,,"""%1"" %*"
HKLM, Software\CLASSES\comfile\shell\open\command,,,"""%1"" %*"
HKLM, Software\CLASSES\exefile\shell\open\command,,,"""%1"" %*"
HKLM, Software\CLASSES\piffile\shell\open\command,,,"""%1"" %*"
HKLM, Software\CLASSES\regfile\shell\open\command,,,"regedit.exe ""%1"""
HKLM, Software\CLASSES\scrfile\shell\open\command,,,"""%1"" %*"
HKCU, Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System,DisableRegistryTools,0x00000020,0

then open notepad, and paste it in then File, Save As, (to your desktop) "fix.inf" OK (make sure you put the quotes around fix.inf or it won't work).

Close notepad. Find fix.inf on your desktop and right click and Install that may also allow regedit and task manager to work.
