A couple of days ago I was hooking my video card up to my TV to watch a movie, using an HDMI cable, and was getting audio through my TV through Winamp, but not Firefox.

So I disabled my on board sound and switched the audio to only the HDMI port on my video card.

When I tried to change it back, I got the "No Audio Device Installed" error when I try to open the volume mixer.

I've done everything I can think of.

-Updated Drivers for the on board audio
-Checked the BIOS, Onboard audio is enabled.
-Bought a sound card, installed the latest drivers

I'm on the verge of reinstalling the OS.

I'm 95% sure that it's the OS and not the motherboard. Like I said, I already bought a sound card and tried it, but it didn't work.

Any thoughts?
