Hi
I have a pc with the following specs :
Intel Pentium D 3.4 GHZ
Intel 945 MB
3GB DDR 667 Ram
500 GB HDD
Geforce 8600GT 256mb ddr3
Windows 7

My problem is the pc works fine when playing music or movies, but when I run a game the pc (rainbow six vegas 1 or doom3 etc all on medium to low settings) starts to lag unbelievably.Its so slow I have to manually end the process trough task manager.
I know the pc is not the fastest, but this should not happen
Checked Ram
Swapped out PSU (400watts)
Swapped HDD

What could cause this issue?
