Recently bought an iPhone, but when I hooked it up to my computer and started iTunes, this message popped up:

"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again."

I uninstalled my firewall/antivirus software (which was Norton), and I reinstalled iTunes. I've restarted my computer several times, but to no avail.

I ran the iTunes diagnostic and this is what came up:

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 6002)
PACKARD BELL BV EasyNote MH36
iTunes 9.1.1.12
QuickTime 7.6.6
FairPlay 1.7.16
Apple Application Support 1.2.1
iPod Updater Library 9.0d11
CD Driver 2.2.0.1
CD Driver DLL 2.1.1.1
Apple Mobile Device 3.0.1.3
Apple Mobile Device Driver 1.46.0.0
Bonjour 2.0.1.2

iTunes Serial Number 43A893CDD59AA1ED

Yes, I can connect to the internet okay, and can browse to a number of sites on Firefox. However, I can't surf on Internet Explorer. Could the two problems be linked? Thanks for your help!

P.S. I've already put my problem up on Apple's support website, but I thought I'd give this site a go too.
