Hello, when I try to start a game on my laptop such as Age of Empires II, Civ 4 or any other cd-rom game the loading screen comes on and I can tell the cd-rom is running and then it just stops and the game never comes up, the problem just recently started and has never done this before...Any help that could be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Does your drive work at any other time?, such as installing software or burning files to CD.

yes it does any other type of cd works in the drive

What other games does this happen on?

more importantly, what kind of games and what grapphic card you have?
i think try to use a mini-images but i wont guarantee you since its use like a no-CD patch and not all games have oficial no-CD patch

none of my cdrom games will work, but all have previously worked...I have not changed the graphic card and because it worked before I dont think that would be it

Have you got an external CD drive you can try using?
