Attached is a picture of my registry that is causing me problems.
My computer is a Gateway P-6860FX Laptop with a USB mouse.
I'm currently typing on another computer (typing with on-screen keyboard is tedious!).

--The Background--
One day, I noticed that as I was increasing my volume (using my finger to scroll to the right), it froze and was stuck like that. I paid it no mind and continued on with life. The computer has been left on. When I had to relocate, everything was unplugged but the computer was still left on. The next time I opened it, the keyboard stopped working and the touchpad as well.

--Present Day/What i've done--
I've..
-tried putting my recovery cd and repairing/reinstalling drivers.
-uninstalled, restarted and hoped it'd rerecognize but it came up with an error with installing it.
-system restored it after attempt 2.
-used google.

--Future--
I'm trying really hard not to wipe everything and reinstalling. I've also read that even after doing that, this problem might persist.

Please let me know if you need any more information. I'm pretty sure i'm missing something!

--edit, i believe this should be in the hardware section of the forum. could an admin move it?
