When I start my computer, a message comes up that says this file is not intended for the operating system. The file is SMax4PNP.exe

How do I find this file to delete it, if that is what I need to do?

Also, sometimes Windows 7 recognizes the DVD player, and sometimes it doesn't. How do I fix this?

The file is a part of your sound card driver (SoundMax).
Is your computer sound OK?
Do you have any errors in Device Manager?

The errors in Device Manager are for OTHER DEVICES: PCI Serial Port & PCI Simple Communications Controller. I have no idea what these are for, but there are no drivers available.

Also, when searching the internet (I use Google) about 50% of the time an entirely different website comes up than the one I clicked on. I go back and forth, and finally on the 3rd or 4th try, if I am lucky, it links to what I clicked on. I have never had this happen before, and have no idea what is causing it or how to fix it. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Am still trying to get used to Windows 7 - from XP - never had Vista. I also can't figure out why sometimes my DVD player shows up and sometimes it doesn't. Have some bugs to work out!
