In a database I am creating we are using the ID field to automatically generate a number, that we use as a quote number. However as this is a new system we already have quote numbers up to 3000-and-something (on paper), so is there a way, to start the ID at a set number, say 3567 as a rough guideline.

Greetings,

Not sure what datatype you are referring to for the ID field, but if you referring to setting an Autonumber field to a specific starting value, please see the links below for a couple options. I hope they provide further research for you. If they repeat any information you are already familar with then I'll continue to seek further info.

1. Set Autonumber to Start from...

2. Autonumbering in Microsoft Access

best regards,
