Hello all!

Im not sure exactly what to do here. First I'll give some background. About a month ago I had gotten some virus/trojan that spoofed a microsoft internet security sheild on my system. It wouldnt let me open malwarebytes and I called a tech I found and he came over and fixed the system by removing the program. He was deleting some registries and was able to get malwarebytes to update and run in safe mode. So after a couple of hours of updating and deleting and random searching and deleting files my computer was running fine and I was happy to have that virus gone.

Another problem arose however. Whenever I play counterstrike (I dont play online just off the disk) or lately Ive tried playing monopoly online (here http://board-games.p...games/monopoly) my system will randomly freeze up and I mean freeze up completely. Even that google pacman game was making my computer freeze. I cant even make the computer reset with the reset button or turn off by pressing and holding the power button. I have to actually flip the switch on the back of the computer to get the computer to turn off.

Im thinking he might have accidentally deleted something necessary for playing video on my computer, but I really dont know.

Im not exactly sure where this leaves me but hopefully someone here can help?

Im running windows xp professional by the way. And my video card is ATI Radeon X1300

Thank you!

Hi,

Remove all the temporary Internet and Installation files by following below mentioned steps:
a). Click on Start and select Run.
b). Type %temp% and hit enter.
c). Delete all the files and folders in the window.
d). Click on Start and select Run.
e). Type temp and hit enter.
f). Delete all the files and folders in the window.
g). Restart your machine and check if video plays well.

If the same problem persist then try to download the latest video drivers from your machine manufacturer's website and install it.

It should work.

I sucessfully deleted all in %temp%
When trying to delete everything in temp folder all deleted except one and I got this message

"Cannot delete Perflib_Perfdata7fc: It is being used by another person or program.
Close any programs that might be using that file and try again."

I am going to try getting the latest video drivers for my video card.

What browser/version do you use to play those games?
Have you tried different browser?

Download Temp File Cleaner (TFC)
Double click on TFC.exe to run the program.
Click on Start button to begin cleaning process.
TFC will close all running programs, and it may ask you to restart computer.

I use internet explorer 7 to play those online games.

counterstrike doesnt require a browser, just plays off the disk.

I downloaded tfc and ran it, it did ask to reboot. Thats now done.

Also downloaded and installed the latest driver for the video card.
