My CD/DVD Combo drive didn't eject a CD R/W, not from the button or responding to various Eject commands, from "My Computer", Manage, etc. This oddity just occurred today when I was backing up Quicken data to a CD R/W for backup. Hey, I learned about the little hole that one can stick a paper clip through from your blog. Anyway, a program called Direct CD, from Roxio is the secret, FOR ME. If that program is not running the CD is STUCK. If I start Direct CD, then the CD drive ejects from the button just fine. Anyone got a clue why this is?

The program uses a software eject.
Pressing the button is hardware eject, and if the button is damaged, worn or whatever, it won't eject.

Hi, Neil, this is pretty cool. The button works, the hardware eject, if and only if, the program DirectCD is running.
