That doesn't look right since it doesn't look like you are in the right area.
According to the pic you are at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
You need to click SOFTWARE
Then Microsoft
Then Windows
Then CurrentVersion and finally Setup
Then check the key

Ok got it

Source Path already has C Drive as destination for Source Path

Im gonna do the sfc scan now

OK kewl then hopefully if it needs to replace a system file it can do it with no problems.
Let me know if it does find and replace\repair anything you see.

How is system running now since running the chkdsk /r and now the sfc /scannow?
Has the freezing problem lessened or about the same?

The freezing was so bad i guess i just got kinda used to it

I take it being a Emachines you don't have a XP installation disk then?
I believe the next step is to perform a repair installation but I know Emachines usually has a recovery partition instead of shipping a actual Installation disk.

Ok let me see

I had to search for my origianl package

It says that its a restore Disk

OK that may be a problem as most of the time a restore cd does not allow for a repair installation. Usually it will only format and reinstall everything as it was brand new.
