For some reason I am not able to access my registry. When i go to start and type regedit, it comes up with a black box that says C:\WINDOWS\System32\regedit.com, and nothing else happens. And help would be great. :tazz:

The executable file which launches the Registry Editor is C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\REGEDT32.EXE

There should not be a REGEDIT.COM (at least I don't have it) -- don't know how you got it on your system but that's why regedit won't open.

Me again. Just found another file which opens the Registry Editor aswell -- C:\WINDOWS\REGEDIT.EXE
Does the same as REGEDT32.EXE but file sizes are different.

Hopefully you should have at least one of them present to start regedit with.
