I'm having trouble connecting to the internet with Firefox and IE. However, I can access the internet with
SBC Yahoo! Browser with the same computer.

When I try to log into e-mail, wordpress, etc. with SBC Y! It says the browser cannot load the page. Only Meebo works.

My Ad-Aware cannot update

Scans for AVG, an HP health check, and a few others take very long. The HP Health Check went on for 7 hours. I had to shut it down from task manager after waiting for a long time to click close.

When I try to do a system restore, it says something about my C drive.

I used to or still have these programs in my computer (some of them are possibly bad): Adware Alert, Pixia, AIM, Maplestory (one of the last games I downloaded before this happened)

I've had this problem for almost a year now.

This computer is a Compaq Presario C500 with Vista.
I'm planning on getting 7 or restarting my whole computer. (By the way, is 7 much better?)

I'm sorry this isn't exactly to the topic, but I thought it might be because of my browser problem. But please help?

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post an OTListIt log in THAT forum.
