Im not sure if it is against the rules for me to ask for help or not, im pretty sure it only said i cant be accepted til all topics are closed... but i would just like someone to please analyse this log for me, it is from my girlfriends computer and she possibly may have been infected from an msn virus link. If anyone sees this and is busy leave it til later i dont mind,

Thankyou,
Dylan

Hello, Dylan0001, and welcome to GeeksToGo! We have updated our forums, and need you to follow a few new steps before I can help you. Please do the following:

Please follow the steps in this topic, and post back with the following logs if you are still having problems and I will look over the log for you:

  • Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware log
  • OTL.txt and Extras.txt
  • ark.txt

If something doesn't work, make a note of it, and move on to the next step. Tell me if anything doesn't work, but make sure you tried everything first. :)

Thanks anyway,
Dylan

P.s. I got the same canned speech lol... not really lol.... but similar.... hopefully i finish my training in a couple of months :)

From the HijackThis log, it looked okay. It doesn't really say if you are infected with the MSN virus or not, but it's a start. The only real way to know is with more information, which is why I requested additional logs.

If you are all set, and don't require any more assistance, let me know and I'll close this topic.

Good luck in your training as well, I'm sure you'll be seeing me more soon. :)

K thanks, Ya u can close it its all good if it looks alright it should be good. Malwarebytes had removed all the identified infected files mintutes after the link was clicked. No brower homepage hacks or anything that i picked up and HJT as you said seems clean so it should be all good.

Thankyou,
Dylan
