Computer won't start up after running emsisoft antimalware

Hi - I loaded emsisoft antimalware after having problems with google searches being redirected. I left the program running and when I came back my laptop had switched off and now won't turn back on (power light comes on for a moment and fan starts, then it all turns off) - any ideas? Thanks in advance....

Have you tried safe mode?
Start tapping F8 during boot up.
If successful, try last known good configuration.
No good...try safe mode and do a system restore to before the issue.
