Pictures Won't open in E Mails

I have XP and use OE for E Mail. How can I get pictures to open in the E Mail? All I get is an X

try this...
In Tools menu...options... look in the security tab and if you can see an option referring to something about preventing downloading attachments then make sure this is unchecked. This feature was introduced from OE version 6 and is checked by default.
