About one month ago my computer starting shutting down by itself right when the windows screen started... Finally it starting working again after downgrading itself somehow?. Now I have a whole bunch of problems with it and I don't know where to start. I have a HP dv6000 laptop with Vista, computer is around 2 years old. I think I need to update the drivers but I cannot access the internet! My wireless (bluetooth) doesn't even connect! Here's a list of problems I have

1)Ethernet port does not recognize the cable
2)computer "sleep" function is unavailable
3)Bluetooth wireless will not connect "Windows cannot find any networks"
4)No system restore points exist on computer

***I am pretty sure I need to update a bunch of drivers, but I can't even access the Internet in order to do so?
I'm not very good with computers (this is a little over my head) so any help would be greatly appreciated!
ps: Right now I am using my desktop (which works fine)

Thanks,
James :)

go to

http://welcome.hp.co...en/support.html

type DV6000 in the for product box press enter
then choose the series
choose vista 32 or 64 bit
click next

download all drivers and save to a usb device or burn to a disk to keep
for later use.

DO NOT download the BIOS file if you do not know how to flash

Install chipset driver first then VGA, storage, then the rest

ok so far I have updated them all...but the network catagory will not let me.
in Device manager under network adapters, there is a bunch of drivers listed...
I fixed the Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI), by updating it...
but the Microsoft isatap {B73E325A-79E7-483A- ,etc... and adapters #1, #2, #3 etc...will not update their drivers, it keeps saying "Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device"...The device cannot start.(code 10)
I was soooo close to fixing the computer!!! in fact the screen resolution is back to normal now, which is awesome thanks to you :)

Please help

I have figured out how to fix all the drivers (I think) except for
WAN Miniport (L2TP)
this is found under Device manager, Network adapters
I still cannot connect to the internet...and when I try to set up an internet connection it says:

Failed to Detect Internet Connectivity

Componenet GUID: {7071ECA3-663B-4BC1-A1FA-B97F3B9173}

Componenet file: [C:\windows\system32\connect.dll]

Error: (0x800706BA)

The error message could not be found.

Additional info: Failed to detect Internet connectivity.

:) this is brutal and I hope someone has a solution
