Most likely the CD media, your burner doesn't think it can write to it any faster without errors. You could try another brand of CD-R's. Also, many times a firmware update from the drive mfg will improve media compatability.the CD-R write speed is 40X but when I burn a CD it will only burn at 8X any reason for this
Two competing formats. Kind of like VHS and Beta. I usually use DVD-R because it's more compatible with most DVD players.what is the differance between DVD-R and DVD+R
