Hi everyone, I'm new. I hope I don't come across as rude, but one just doesn't feel like telling the story of his life when he has a computer problem. I promise to write a proper introduction, if required, later on.

I'm not even sure this is a virus issue, but anyway:

My problem is, every time I try to play any video file (.avi or DVD or anything) in any player in my laptop, it all goes fine for one minute or two, then the image freezes, the audio continues, and I can't exit the player. Ctrl+Alt+Del won't work, and I have to force a reboot the old "push the button, Frank" way. No problem at all watching YouTube videos or similar.

Graphic card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT. System is Windows XP.

Also, after one of those forced reboots, the file hs_err_pid2904.log has appeared on my desktop. Might it all be a Java problem?

Thanks a lot in advance!
