hijackthis log non specific problems[RESOLVED]

Hi,

I have been having various minor problems computer hang ups on shut down, web pages not loading/causing internet explorer to crash etc. Not often but thought I would run a few good thorough check ups make sure every thing is ok.

I would appreciate if some one could check out my hijackthis log and give any suggestions for problems of streamlining tips.

This is what I have done so far:
1: Windows Updates - have downloaded / installed all current Windows Updates
2: Ad-Aware downloaded / installed all current Updates Ran scan at this sites
recommended settings. Scan was clean
3: Have ran CWSredder: no threats found
4: Spybot S&D: downloaded / installed all current Updates. Scan was clean
5: Microsoft Antispyware beta1: installed all current Updates. Scan was clean
5: Nortons System Works: downloaded / installed all current Updates Have ran, disk
doctor, win doctor, antivirus, checkit diagnostics everything come out good. (defragged drive at the time for the [bleep] of it)

Hello Redshirt

There is nothing obviously malicious in your HJT log, so a reasonable guess would be that your problem lies elsewhere.

The only comment I would make about your log is that you have an awful lot (35) of programmes loading at startup and therefore hogging resources. You must analyse what you NEED from what you WANT. You definitley need Antivirus and Antispyware programmes running, but the rest are operable manually.

Also please note that you have two antispyware programmes running in real-time whixh may cause conflict. I would recommend that you uninstall one of them and use the other for "on-demand" scans.

Running CCleaner CCleaner will help clear caches, but you can go to START>RUN and type in cleanmgr and press ENTER. Choose your drive (likely C) and let the PC calculate how much space you can save. Delete some or any or all, they are all resource hogs.

Similarly, you could check your temp folder by doing this. START>RUN and type in %temp% and press ENTER. Most of it should be gone, but feel free to delete the rest.

I would recommend that you post in the Windows XP forum or Hardware forum.
