Hi. I was using a network at my college through ethernet last semester and everything was fine. Now I've moved into a shared house where everyone is able to connect to the Netgear ethernet network except me. My computer says it is connected with 100 Mbps and is receiving packets but won't send packets and won't load any internet pages. I'm using Windows XP, am not behind the Windows firewall but am behind a Norton firewall and using Norton anti-virus (which says I have no viruses). I'm able to connect to the web through dial up, but not through LAN. Please let me know if you can help. Thanks.

try and turn the norton firewall off.

on the network that you are using, dont they have their own firewall? (router)
if not, then use the microsoft firewall, if turning off the norton works for you
