Hello, I have a question about accessing the internet on my work computer. We have a local intranet that is capable of accessing the internet through explorer but they can see everything you do.
We have a outside company that keeps a Verizon wireless router in our building. I found that is I turn off the computer and run a cat 5 from there router to my computer it wont load my desk top. If I open everything normally through there intranet and disconnect there cat5 and connect the wireless router cat5 I get internet access through explorer witch is fine. The question i have is, "Can they see what I'm doing on explorer if i clear my temp internet files, history and cookies?

Thank you, pissed off employee

First, do you have permission from the outside company to use their equipment?

second, do you have permission from YOUR company to connect THEIR equipment (i'm assuming the computer you're using is company owned) to another company's equipment?

We here at Geeks To Go cannot help you get around any sort of administrative restrictions imposed on a School, Work, or any other network not owned and operated by yourself. These restrictions can include (but are not limited to): Website Blocking policies, Software Installation policies, Email retention policies, Software Configuration policies, Network/Internet usage policies, Network Configuration policies, Forum or Chat Room Bans, Game Server Bans, or any other actions that are deemed "unauthorized" by the owners/administrators of the network in question. Any actions by members of the Geeks To Go site that would be offered to help in this manner would directly violate the TOS of this site.

If you have any issues with this policy please PM a Moderator or Admin.

And to answer your question- if it's their network, they can see everything. They control everything. They own everything. Since we can't help you get around their policies (see above) I'm closing this thread.
