Ok, so I recently had a thunderstorm. My computer is plugged into surge protectors (hopefully did the trick), and we had power go out. Actually my breaker for my room had to be reset after the power went out. I booted up and my computer started like normal, but when I tried to play a game (battle field bad company 2, and Half life 2) both began to give me artifacts, and then shortly after crashed (this is right after loading into the game). The eorror on the blue screen of death read Bad Pool Header (couldn't read much more due to it automatically restarting after clearing memory). There was also another error that came up after it attempted to restart saying it failed to reset graphics drivers and once again attempted to restart. I shut down the machine, unplugged it to see if it needed a full power cycle, and started it up again. Once again it failed.

I ruled out a hardware problem due to it only occuring when I load a game. I can have the GUI in windows up for hours and nothing happens.

If it is a registry problem does anyone know of any free program (not trials) that could fix my problem, or potential other fixes like possibly using the windows 7 disK?

Minor note: I attempted to update the drivers for my video card after this all happened and the installer stops working.

Download BlueScreenView (in Zip file)
No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

It looks like it may be video card issue.
It may be damaged, that's why you have a problem with driver installation.

It's strange.... I went and played bfbc2 for about 30 min and had no problem. I even increased the texture settings to high. I wonder if changing the settings caused it to rewrite some code somewhere to correct the error... I'm not sure... I'm just happy that it kinda fixed itself... I'll keep you all posted if I get more blue screen crashes.
