I have the exact same problem described in the thread titled 'cleverIEhooker.jeired removal please! posted by agochoa.
I followed the advice you provided on that post, but find different file names.
I would very much appreciate any help you can provide to solve this problem.

Welcome to GTG martin <_<

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure. Please move Hijack This to a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Reboot in safe mode (by tapping F8 at startup and select safe mode from the menu). Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold:

C:\Program Files\TV Media\ <- Folder Itself
C:\WINDOWS\tyheojm.exe
C:\Windows\PowerReg Scheduler.exe
C:\Windows\PowerReg SchedulerV2.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\egwajbc.exe

Next, please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {707E6F76-9FFB-4920-A976-EA101271BC25} - C:\Program Files\TV Media\TvmBho.dll

OK, the plot thickens.
I did not find the power reg files in windows\system32, and I did not find the search hook or the power reg items in HiJack This either.
I do see those items on HiJack This when I boot up the system the standard way, but not when I boot up in safe mode. Since you told me to fix them in safe mode, I didn't fix them and they are still there.
I did not find the Power Reg scheduler.exe files in either safe or standard modes.

Thanks for sticking in there. In regular mode. Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

It appears my computer is behaving better, but hard for me to tell because it gets more and more out of control over time. It's a lot worse if I use Explorer than Mozilla, so perhaps I could use Explorer for a while to see whether it's fixed. According to Spyware Doctor I still have Webhancer, but don't know what that meanso and whether I should worry about that.
Thanks again. I think we are making progress and appreciate the help. <_<

Just a couple more to fix in HJT:
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://home.kla-tencor.com/

Spyware Doctor is an unreliable program. I see no traces of WebHancer in your log. You might try looking in C:\Program Files\ for the WebHancer folder. If it's there delete it. If it's not there, Congratulations! Your system is CLEAN <_<

How do you prevent spyware from being installed again? We strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster (it's free for personal use).

Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Consumes no system resources.

Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks. If you have any errors running the program like a missing file see the link at the bottom of the javacool page.

It's also very important to keep your system up to date to avoid unnecessary security risks. Click Here to make sure that you have the latest patches for Windows.

It's okay to delete the Hijack This folder in a couple weeks if everything is working okay.

I strongly recommend you install an Anti-Virus and keep it up-to-date. AVG offers a great free anti-virus:

Also, make sure your Windows Firewall is turned on. To do this:

1. Go to "Start", then "Control Panel"
2. Click on "Network and Internet Connections", then "Network Connections" at the bottom
3. Right-click on your internet connection and choose "Properties"
4. Click the "Advanced" tab and make sure "Protect my computer..." is checked
5. Hit "OK" and you will now be protected from hackers

These next two steps are optional, but will provide the greatest protection.
1. Use ANY browser besides Internet Explorer, almost every exploit is crafted to take advantage of an IE weakness. We usually recommend Firefox.
2. Install Sun's Java. It's much more secure than Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine .

After doing all these, your system will be thoroughly protected from future threats. :D

Great! Thanks a lot.
You guys are doing great work. <_<
By the way, I was curious about those PowerReg .exe files, so I did a search in my hard disk (including hidden files) and found them in C:\Windows\Prefetch
Should I erase them in safe mode?
Thanks again for all your help.
Regards,
Martin

Don't worry about the prefetch. It's a kind of cache that XP uses to allow programs to load faster. Once the program's gone the prefetch should clear itself. It can't reinfect your system.
