Hey im new to this forum. And i am trying to update my drivers because they are out of date. im running into trouble with this though. I believe my drivers are NVIDIA Geforce 6500 and so i went to my official site to update and every time i try to download driver detective i get this "The wizard was interrupted before driver detective could be completely installed your system has not been modified." I have rerun this installation at least 30 times. I have virus scanned. stopped my firewalls etc and used tune up utilities 2010 to fix any problems on my computer hoping maybe that was the case. My computer is now defragmented because of it :). But would anyone here no why it wont work is it a simple fix such as reinstalling wizard or what?

Hi cxtwo :)

Are you having any particular problem with the computer or the drivers? Reason being is that updating drivers will sometimes create more issues and sometimes the latest and greatest won't always work.

You are most likely looking for the video driver.
Lets verify what you have.
Lets see if we can get some system information.

Download and install PC Wizard 2010

Run the program and it will analyze your computer and then display the results.
In the upper left hand corner click on the floppy icon.
You will get a save as screen.
Change the range bullet "only this selection" to be "selected category".
Make sure that text is selected for format.
Click on ok and you will be given a spot to save it to.

Attach it to your response.

I take it that you successfully updated the video driver and that you can play Dragon Age Origins.

If you want to see where all your driver versions are you can click the update drivers button in the link. Doing that will show you all drivers that are out of date.
The programs like UpdateMyDrivers and DriverScan will allow you to update only after you register.

I ran the program in the link and it found P/S2 mice and Keyboard (I don't have any. It also showed a 1394 card that I have disabled.
It does not recognize my monitor and shows 3 network adapters of which I have only had 1.

There are other ways to update drivers. This is using programs such as PC Wizard 2010, Everest, and Speccy to identify what is on a computer. You then go to the manufacturers web site and get the drivers for FREE.

As I stated earlier, we do not recommend to just update all drivers. We will update when there is a suspected driver issue or if it to resolve a problem like you had.
There will be a time when a new driver creates more problems than what it is supposed to resolve.

Make sure you go directly to the Manufacturers website, You will know this because beneath all the info it will say NVIDID.com U will find your driver on that site. Everyone else is trying to make a Buck off of you by making you buy their software. Good Luck. I just used the site today!
