device manager screenshot attached. I didn't see any Yellow Exclamation Mark or Red X's. untitled2.JPG

Boujour looks like it is associated with iTunes and or my iPod.

I did try to repair it via Control Panel/ Add/Remove software. I'll see if that works. I can't see how to disable it.

I'm reluctant to delete it, because I'm not sure what will happen to my iTunes/iPod interaction. If it freezes again, I'll try deleting it and reinstalling iTunes if necessary. I am running the latest version of iTunes.

I'll see if i can get a new nic driver too.

OK you might just try stopping Bonjour from starting up automatically by doing the following.
Lets see what you have in your startup

Please click on
Start and then to Run
Type in msconfig and press Enter
Now click on Startups
Then uncheck everything that has to do with Bonjour and restart.
IMPORTANT! In case of laptop, make sure, you do NOT disable any keyboard, or touchpad entries.
If system boots correctly and is running smoothly and faster then we have a startup problem
Try going back into msconfig and check one item and reboot
Keep doing that till you have found the problem or all are finally checked.
Post back with the results

nothing in my startup that looks like boujour, there is a ituneshelp in the startup, so nothing to uncheck. Interestingly when i run itunes and plugin my ipod and synch it, Bounjour doesn't appear in my task manager at all.

i reinstalled the driver my my usb wireless card.

so at this point, i've

  • repaired boujour
  • reinstalled my wireless card driver
  • rebooted after a windows update

it seems ok now, but the freeze happens intermittently. I'll let you know if something happens. If nothing happens for a few weeks, then i'll let you know then as well. Thanks for your help.

I need to look a little deeper for the problem. Please do the following and attach the requested logs.
Download Autoruns from the link in my signature below:

1: Extract the Autoruns Zip file contents to a folder.
2: Double-click the "Autoruns.exe".
3: Click on the "Everything" tab
4: Remove any entries that mention "File Not Found" by right-clicking the entry and select Delete.
5: Go to File then to Export As or Save in some versions.
6: Save AutoRuns.txt file to known location like your Desktop.
7: Attach to your next reply.

Download and install Free Everest Home Edition
Open it.
1: In left pane expand Computer folder.
2: Click once on Summary
3: In upper menu, go Report
4: And then to Quick Report-Summary
5: Save it in text file, and paste it in your next post.
Click the + by computer, click on Sensor. Get a screenshot and post it so I can check your temps and voltages...

just happened again, this time while i was using it.

I had only chrome open, with multiple tabs. I had a youtube video playing on one and was closing of few other tabs when the first thing i noticed was the audio from youtube stopped, the mouse was still working, then the mouse skipped then froze, then i heard the tell tale increase in some internal fan speed. The display is still visible, but all locked up and needs a hard reboot.

I don't know if this helps at all.
