computer freezes

hi my computer board is VIA P4M800 PRO - DDR2 WITH SDRAM running windows xp pro
so this is my problem my computer freezes and sometimes it can reach
the login screen and sometimes it doesn't and also the key board and
mouse can't work when it freezes, so i tried replacing the ram and
also tried swapping it in the modules but this didn't work,AND this also
disturbs me cause ma computer
gives POST beep codes, one beep means all clear,so what could be tha problem.so
please help me

The number and length of the BIOS beep codes signify a specific fault so you know which component/device to replace.

Note that the beep codes and what they mean are different for easc BIOS manufacturer, so look in the appropriate section on the web page. The manufacturer of your computer's BIOS should be displayed on the screen as soon as you turn on the PC - Usually it's made by "Award" or "AMI", and sometimes "Pheonix".
